Intrusion Detection and CCTV Technician

Job Category: Engineering and Technical Support

What You’ll Get to Do:

  1. Install electrical system components (e.g., panels, pull stations, conduit, wiring) to upgrade system capabilities.
  2. Upgrade, disassemble, reconfigure systems, and provide operator and maintenance training for electronic and mechanical security systems.
  3. Diagnose electrical, sensor, network issues to identify repairs.
  4. Provide technical expertise for security system upgrades and reconfigurations at bases in Southwest Asia and Northern Africa.
  5. Collaborate with Force Protection personnel on security system issues.
  6. Recommend placement of new or upgraded equipment to FP and On-Site FP Commander.
  7. Understand basic IP networking and RF technologies.
  8. Perform manual labor tasks such as lifting heavy equipment, digging, cable laying, fiber splicing, and working in harsh environments.
  9. Assist with Contractor Verification System (CVS) applications and verify information accuracy.
  10. Advise on Common Access Card (CAC) issuance procedures.
  11. Manage Synchronized Predeployment and Operational Tracker system (SPOT) applications.
  12. Track Letters of Authorization (LOA) and verify traveler passports.
  13. Provide advice on international VISA requirements, driver's licenses, medical clearances, immunizations, and Theater Business Clearance (TBC) requirements.
  14. Coordinate with USAFCENT on relevant issues.

Required Skills:

  • Active US Secret clearance.
  • At least 10 years of experience in physical or electronic security system projects.
  • Minimum 5 years in electronics and basic electric troubleshooting.
  • Experience with intrusion detection systems like Honeywell's Vindicator, electronic security, access control, CCTV, thermal imagers.
  • Ability to write detailed trip reports with sensor recommendations based on site surveys.
  • High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Ability to climb towers and carry 50+ pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Must be deployable to war zones.
  • Valid US passport and driver's license.
