LiveWords B.V. in Berlin is seeking an interpreter to enable effective communication across language barriers. Your responsibilities include conducting telephone and video interpreting assignments as well as providing on-site interpreting services. You will also participate in peer meetings and keep up with relevant literature.

The ideal candidate should possess a good command of German and Arabic, have HBO level of thinking, and the ability to handle stress. Experience in interpreting is preferred but not mandatory.

Jobbeschreibung

Your main purpose as interpreter is to enable effective and clear communication between parties who would otherwise face language barriers. This position is required to work on site at the client’s building.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting telephone and video interpreting assignments in specific cases.
• Providing on-site interpreting services.
• Building terminology lists.
• Participating in peer meetings with fellow interpreters.
• Keeping up with professional literature and developments in political, socio-economic, and linguistic areas.

Requirements

• HBO (higher professional education) level of thinking.
• Good command of the German and Arabic language, both spoken and written.
• Ability to handle stress and perform under pressure.
• A professional appearance and a pleasant, professional manner.
• Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
• Professional experience as Interpreter is a pre but not mandatory/ or:
• Proven real-time interpreting skills (optional: at C1 level) across various settings, including telephone, video-based, and on-location interpreting.
