Job summary

ACCURE invites an Internship or Master Thesis position in Battery Analytics in Aachen. You will explore a large grid-scale BESS dataset to understand performance, safety and lifetime, delivering a concrete project with mentor.

You will build analytics, turn findings into visuals for engineers and customers, and apply AI tools daily, while collaborating with leading battery experts in a fast-growing international team.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a technical degree (e.g., electrical/computational science).
• Interest in lithium-ion batteries and the BESS industry.
• Proficient in Python for data analysis.
• Familiar with AI tools and evaluating outputs.
• Strong analytical mindset with proactive, structured work style.

Responsibilities

• Data exploration of large battery operation datasets (grid-scale BESS).

Your Role

• Data exploration:Dig into one of the world's largest battery operation datasets, covering grid-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS), and work out what it says about performance, safety and lifetime.
• Analytics and models:Find trends, anomalies and predictive patterns, and help turn them into methods that run in production.
• Visualisation:Turn analysis into visuals an engineer, an operator or a customer can act on.
• AI in the workflow:Use AI tools as a normal part of how the work gets done, from exploring data to writing code, and build the judgement to tell a correct answer from a merely plausible one.
• Real project work:Take a real piece of a real project, with a mentor and a clear deliverable, not a side task invented for a student.

Your Skills

• Studies:You are enrolled in a technical degree, for example electrical or mechanical engineering, computational science or data science.
• Battery and BESS enthusiast:You are genuinely interested in lithium‑ion batteries and the BESS industry, and have picked up some battery basics already.
• Python:You can work with data in Python, or you are close enough that you will get there fast.
• AI tools:You already use AI tools in your studies, or you are keen to start, and you check the output rather than trusting it.
• Working method:You bring initiative, structure and reliability, you think analytically, and you ask when something is unclear.
• Languages:You communicate confidently in English. German is a plus, not a requirement.
