Job summary

ZEISS Innovation Hub @ KIT invites students to join a multidisciplinary team and contribute to research in computer vision and photogrammetry. You will work on projects ranging from camera calibration and digital twin simulations to object detection and depth estimation algorithms.

This internship/working student position offers hands-on experience with intrinsic/extrinsic camera calibration, and the possibility to continue working student duties for up to 2 years, with hybrid/remote work days

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or electrical engineering specializing in computer vision, machine learning or similar.
• Strong CS background with coding skills in Python (C++ a plus).
• Initial experience with computer vision, camera calibration, photogrammetry, PyTorch, and OpenCV.

Responsibilities

• Work on research projects in computer vision and photogrammetry in ZEISS Innovation Hub @ KIT.
• Contribute to camera calibration and simulation of camera characteristics in digital twins; develop object detection and depth estimation algorithms.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to shape next-generation products and explore topics of interest within the project.

Your Profile

• You are interested in technology and motivated to work on challenging tasks
• You are enrolled in a bachelor’s or master's degree in computer science or electrical engineering specializing in computer vision, machine learning or similar
• You have a strong computer science background with very good coding skills in Python (C++ is a plus)
• You have initial experience with computer vision, ideally camera calibration, photogrammetry, PyTorch, and OpenCV
• You understand camera models, projection geometry, coordinate systems, and basic 3D geometry
• You are willing to collaborate and work in interdisciplinary teams
• Good communication skills in English and/or German
• You are willing to learn and explore with a high degree of initiative and creativity
