Job summary

Rocket Factory Augsburg AG in Augsburg, Germany, invites a motivated student to join our propulsion team as an intern. You will contribute to designing, building and testing rocket propulsion components in a hands-on, international New Space start-up environment.

Gain exposure to flight hardware, testing facilities, and cross-disciplinary engineering while learning from experienced propulsion engineers. English is the working language; German skills are helpful for on-site logistics.

Qualifications

• Ongoing bachelor or master’s studies in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a similar discipline.
• Familiarity with aerospace propulsion systems and related technologies.
• Very strong understanding of engineering fundamentals.
• Demonstrated ability to personally design, build and test hardware.
• Self-independent with a structured way of working.
• Eager to take on new challenges, learn, and deliver exceptional results.
• Fluent oral and written English (all day-to-day activities are performed in English).

Responsibilities

• Provide general support to our propulsion team to design, build, and test rocket propulsion systems
• Investigate and troubleshoot development and production issues, and implement solutions
• Work with engineers to design flight hardware
• Perform component and system level testing of propulsion hardware
• Own the design and development of equipment for test facilities and engine production
• Learn every day from a team of experienced rocket propulsion engineers to build your knowledge and skills
