ZEISS invites an advanced student to join the IQR Strategy Department as an intern to support market analysis, portfolio reviews, and strategic planning. You will work on models, research modules, and prototypes, applying AI concepts and modern tools to inform decisions.

Responsibilities include market intelligence, competitive assessments, scenario analyses, and presenting findings to the strategy team. Strong Python and Excel skills help create dashboards and analytical tools.

Your Role Within Industrial Quality & Research, ZEISS serves industrial and research customers through measurement, microscopy, and software businesses in rapidly changing markets. The IQR Strategy Department turns market and business analysis into recommendations on strategy, portfolios, growth, organization, and long-term planning. We seek an intern to support strategy projects and use modern tools, including AI, to improve research, modelling, and decision support.

Your role:

• Market intelligence and competitive analysis including market models, forecasts, and opportunity assessments
• Contributing to product portfolio reviews and prioritization
• Supporting M&A screening and strategic-fit analysis
• Developing strategic roadmaps and implementation perspectives
• Preparing scenario analyses and decision-support materials

You will own analyses, models, research modules, or prototypes for real business questions and discuss results with the strategy team.

Your Profile

• Advanced student (preferably master’s level) in business, engineering, computer or data science, economics, or a related field
• Strong interest in corporate strategy, market analysis, and business modelling
• Sound understanding of business administration and strategic-management concepts
• Initial Python experience, good Excel skills and experience building prototypes, analytical tools, dashboards, or business applications is desirable
• Familiarity with AI, large language models, or machine learning is an advantage
• Curiosity, sound judgement, and a willingness to challenge assumptions
• Independent, goal-oriented working style, strong communication and teamwork skills
• Good written and spoken English; German-language skills are an advantage
