Job summary

BMW Group is seeking an internship to advance intelligent mobility and personalized AI-based context engineering. You will join a research team from day one, contribute to memory management for the BMW personal assistant, and help extend vehicle signals and user-tailored experiences.

The role emphasizes Python implementation, AWS cloud familiarity, and cross-disciplinary collaboration in Munich. 6-month full-time internship with housing options near Munich may be available.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of AI, ML and context-aware computing.
• Proficiency in Python for implementation and API deployment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams.
• Experience with AWS cloud services (IAM, EC2, Lambda) is a plus.
• Familiarity with SQL and GraphQL.
• Experience with diverse data formats is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support building and optimizing the AI-based memory management system of the BMW intelligent personal assistant.
• Help extend the list of vehicle signals the memory system can interpret.
• Contribute to leveraging user information for tailored conversations and recommendations.
• Assist in designing and implementing A2A, MCP, and agentic systems using various data sources.

What awaits you?

• You will support building and optimizing the AI-based memory management system of the BMW intelligent personal assistant.
• Furthermore, you help extend the list of vehicle signals the memory system can interpret to get to know the customer with every vehicle interaction.
• In addition, you contribute to leveraging user information to deliver tailored conversational experiences and recommendations.
• Moreover, you assist in designing and implementing A2A, MCP, and agentic systems using various data sources.

What should you bring along?

• Studies in computer science, data science, engineering or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and context-aware computing.
• Proficiency in Python for implementation of agentic frameworks, model integration, prototyping, and API deployment.
• Hands-on experience or strong interest in AWS cloud services, including IAM Management, EC2, AWS Lambda, Kubernetes, and related tools.
• Familiarity with querying languages such as SQL and GraphQL, and experience working with heterogeneous data formats is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment.
