BMW Group in Munich invites interns to help integrate AI agents into vehicle systems. You will assess AI chatbots, study architectures, and prototype connections between external AI assistants, BMW systems, and backend services.

The role focuses on interoperability standards, integration patterns, and testing PoCs to validate approaches and reveal limitations. A 6-month internship with full-time hours will provide hands-on experience in a premium automotive tech environment.

Formación

• Pursuing studies in computer science, software engineering, information systems, AI, or related field.
• Good understanding of modern AI chatbots, large language models, AI agents, tool calling, and third-party AI platforms.
• Familiarity with integration protocols and technologies such as MCP, A2A, REST APIs, SDKs, plugins, and connectors.
• Practical knowledge of JSON, authentication mechanisms, backend services, and software integration patterns.
• Experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS including App Runner and EC2.
• Business-fluent English; German skills are an advantage.

Responsabilidades

• Support scouting and technical evaluation of emerging AI chatbots, agents, and integration technologies.
• Analyze chatbot architectures, capabilities, APIs, SDKs, and integration mechanisms relevant to BMW systems and services.

• Design and test integration architectures connecting AI assistants with cloud services and backend systems.
• Develop technical proofs of concept to validate integration approaches and identify limitations.
• Evaluate and compare technical integration options considering dependencies, security, and feasibility.

Our interdisciplinary team at the BMW Group explores how emerging AI agents can enhance future in car experiences. We investigate AI platforms, interoperability standards, and integration architectures, and develop technical proofs of concept to evaluate their applicability within the BMW ecosystem. As part of your internship, you support the technical assessment and prototyping of innovative connections between external AI assistants, BMW systems, and backend services.

What should you bring along?
