Job Description:

You will be expected to drive and create institutional business opportunities for us.

You will contribute significantly to the growth and diversification of the institutional sales plan, focusing primarily on corporates, pension funds, insurance companies, and regional consultants.

You will be part of the German Distribution team, reporting into the Head of the Institutional Distribution, Germany.

How you'll spend your time
  1. Active selling of Columbia Threadneedle’s investment management product suite to institutional client segments (corporates, pension funds, Versorgungswerke, endowments, and regional consultants). Final responsibilities will be discussed with the Head of Institutional Distribution, Germany, depending on the candidate’s profile.
  2. Responsible for growing institutional AUMs in segregated mandates, solutions, and SICAV offerings, together with the team.
  3. Coverage of local consultants and coordination with the global EMEA consultant team in London.
  4. Delivering against gross and net sales targets as confirmed by management.
  5. Maintaining and cultivating existing client relationships, planning contacts and updates, and working with internal teams to deliver excellent client service.
  6. Developing and leading client presentations.
  7. Promoting Columbia Threadneedle's profile through participation in industry conferences.
  8. Developing and maintaining distribution support and marketing materials for clients, advisors, and consultants.
  9. Participating in marketing activities tailored to the German market.
  10. Collaborating with EMEA Client Services and other teams to ensure seamless client onboarding, maintenance, and due diligence processes.


To be successful in this role, you will have:

  1. Proven track record in covering and successfully selling to institutional accounts with superior sales skills.
  2. Comprehensive knowledge of long-term investment products across asset classes.
  3. Experience with KVGs and understanding of the German Spezialfonds format.
  4. Knowledge of relevant German and European regulatory limitations.
  5. Strong, self-motivated, energetic, with sharp intellect and business acumen.
  6. Ability to engage effectively with clients at various levels, articulate investment points, and develop sales strategies.
  7. Excellent communication skills in German and English.
  8. Relevant asset management experience and a degree in business administration or economics.


Desirable qualifications:

  1. Professional qualifications like CFA, CIIA, or an MBA.
