As a specialty provider of primary insurance services, Great Lakes Insurance SE, with its branches in the UK, Australia, Switzerland, Italy, and Ireland, and its subsidiary in the UK, is an integral part of Munich Re Group and an important enabler for Specialty Insurance Business (GSI - Global Specialty Insurance), closely connected to Munich Re's reinsurance core business.
To strengthen our Integrated Risk Management team, we are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual in Munich as part of the global Great Lakes enterprise risk management function. You will be part of the non-financial risk management team located across Munich and London and contribute to perform non-financial risk management with a focus on information security, business continuity, and third party risk management. The role will work in close collaboration with responsible business units as well as with the Group Integrated Risk Management department in MR.
This position offers exciting challenges and insights within Great Lakes, Munich Re AG, and other Global Specialty Insurance units, with exposure to top management, regulatory bodies, as well as a network of specialists within Munich Re (MR). You will be part of a dynamic and diverse team.
Your Job
- Identify, measure, monitor, control, and report non-financial risks with a focus on information security and third-party risks
- Implement the information security management framework consistent with the MR Group, assuming risk management responsibilities (e.g., risk strategy, definition of minimum requirements, escalation process, and crisis management)
- Contribute to the development of MR Group norms on information security management, business continuity, and third-party risk management, and revise them against GL requirements
- Drive the Business Continuity Management life-cycle
- Design, plan, and execute adequate monitoring measures of the second line of defense, particularly for information security and business continuity management
- Ensure ongoing appropriate risk governance by maintaining documentation and approval procedures
- Promote risk awareness among staff, especially regarding information security, and develop and deliver respective training
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders (IT, Legal, Compliance, etc.) and improve the wider embedment of the non-financial risk/information security management framework at local as well as group level
Your Profile- University degree in computer science, information security, IT management, or a related field
- Proven track record with several years of relevant experience in managing information security or non-financial risks
- Technical undergraduate degree combined with an MBA or risk management credentials desirable
- Information security-related certifications (e.g., Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)) are an asset
- Experience in risk management and/or experience in IT architecture, IT infrastructure, IT security, and information security in a global company or (re)insurance is desired
- Knowledge of Munich Re Group's core business and IT processes is an asset
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills combined with the ability to explain and present to a variety of audiences, including at Board level
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in an international group dynamic and in a hybrid setup
- Very good command of English (written and oral) and German skills at least at an intermediate level
