A day in the life

As a maintenance technician, you will be onsite at one of our logistics centers to respond quickly to technical disruptions. You will perform a series of planned preventive maintenance tasks to ensure safe operation of equipment. You will also respond immediately to malfunctions and outages, investigate causes, find solutions quickly, and apply them. Additionally, you will suggest long-term improvements.

You will collaborate with senior colleagues to carry out daily maintenance tasks and communicate with service providers when external expertise is needed. You will work in rotating shifts to support our locations around the clock, ensuring Amazon can continue to deliver at its usual pace.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Completed technical vocational training recognized by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) or the Chamber of Crafts (HWK).
• At least two years of professional experience in the relevant craft.
• Experience in maintaining industrial production equipment.
• Advanced German language skills, both spoken and written.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with condition monitoring.
• Experience working with pressure and application machines.
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining conveyor or automation systems.

The Reliability Maintenance Engineering Team (RME-Team) ensures our equipment and facilities operate optimally at all times. We are a team of technicians and engineers led by experienced managers, working together to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot devices across Amazon's global network of fulfillment centers. Some team members are leaders overseeing innovative technologies unique to Amazon.

Our team handles installation of automated packaging systems, general maintenance, and repair of critical devices, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency. There are many opportunities for advancement within the RME-Team and across Amazon.

Our activities aim to minimize downtime at Amazon’s key operational sites, ensuring timely delivery to customers. We often work early mornings, late evenings, or night shifts to perform maintenance with minimal disruption. We also innovate by introducing new processes and technologies, including Amazon Robotics and our Complex Item Sorter.
