Advantest in Germany is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to optimize complex electronic assemblies. You will analyze production concepts, improve layouts and flows, and drive cost-efficient improvements across internal teams and contract manufacturers.

The role requires a strong background in Lean, value stream mapping, Kaizen and data-driven decision making. You will lead cross-functional improvement projects and travel 10–20% to coordinate with global production networks.

Qualifikationen

• Several years of experience in industrial/manufacturing engineering.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes for complex products.

• Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes for complex electronic assemblies focusing on efficiency, scalability, throughput and cost.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering methodologies.
• Collaborate with CMs, Operations, Supply Chain and R&D to improve manufacturability and performance.
• Define and monitor KPIs such as cycle time, throughput, OEE, utilization, yield and cost efficiency.
• Lead value stream analysis and process optimization projects to increase performance and reduce cost.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes for complex electronic assemblies with focus on efficiency, scalability, throughput, and cost.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles and Industrial Engineering methodologies.
• Evaluate production concepts, process flows, layouts, and manufacturing strategies together with internal and external production partners.
• Identify bottlenecks, waste, and inefficiencies in manufacturing operations and implement sustainable improvements.
• Collaborate with Contract Manufacturers (CMs), Operations, Supply Chain, and R&D to improve manufacturability and operational performance.
• Define and monitor manufacturing KPIs such as cycle time, throughput, OEE, utilization, productivity, yield, and cost efficiency.
• Support industrialization, production ramp-up, and manufacturing transfer activities.
• Lead value stream analysis and process optimization projects to increase manufacturing performance and reduce operational cost.
• Drive data-based decision making through analysis of production data and operational metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar.
• Several years of experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, operations, or production management.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes for complex technical products.
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Continuous Improvement, and Waste Reduction methodologies.
• Experience working with Contract Manufacturers and global production networks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
• Ability to manage cross-functional improvement projects and drive implementation.
• Very good English communication skills.
• Willingness to travel (10-20%).

Nice to Have

• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, electronics manufacturing, or ATE industry.
• Knowledge of production planning, capacity planning, and manufacturing ramp-up management.
• German language skills.
