Responsibilities include designing motor and servo drive systems, working with frequency converters and developing control algorithms. Collaboration with hardware, software and controls teams is essential, along with thorough testing and documentation.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Automation or a related field.
• Professional experience in industrial drives or power electronics.
• Experience with motor drives, servo drives and frequency converters.
• Strong understanding of motor control principles and drive technologies.
• Experience with control systems such as FOC or vector control.
• Knowledge of power semiconductors, switching technologies and inverter topologies.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, LTspice or similar.
• Hands-on testing, commissioning and troubleshooting drive systems.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; English proficiency.

We are looking for an experienced Industrial Drives & Automation Engineer to join a technically advanced engineering team developing innovative drive and automation solutions for industrial applications.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with expertise in motor drives, servo drives and frequency converters who wants to work on high-performance electrical drive systems from concept and development through to testing and validation.

The Role

As an Industrial Drives & Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, optimisation and validation of advanced electrical drive systems used across industrial applications.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and developing motor drive and servo drive systems
• Working with frequency converters / variable-frequency drives (VFDs)
• Developing and optimising power electronic stages for industrial drive applications
• Working on motor control and drive control strategies
• Supporting the integration of drives with motors, encoders and automation systems
• Performing electrical, thermal and system-level analysis and simulations
• Developing and implementing control algorithms for high-performance drive systems
• Supporting prototype development, commissioning and laboratory testing
• Conducting validation, troubleshooting and performance optimisation
• Analysing efficiency, dynamic performance, losses and thermal behaviour

You will ideally have:

• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Automation Engineering or a related discipline
• Professional experience in industrial drives or power electronics
• Experience with motor drives, servo drives and/or frequency converters
• Strong understanding of motor control principles and drive technologies
• Experience with control systems such as FOC, vector control or similar
• Knowledge of power semiconductors, switching technologies and inverter topologies
• Experience with simulation and engineering tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, LTspice or similar
• Practical experience with testing, commissioning and troubleshooting drive systems
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols and automation systems is advantageous
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• A hands-on and solution-oriented approach
• Good working proficiency in English
