We are conducting a confidential search for an Industrial AI & Robotics Director to lead applied AI and robotics engineering for an industrial technology organisation based in Munich, working hybrid. Munich's strength in industrial automation and robotics makes this a director-level opportunity for a leader who can deploy AI directly onto the factory floor.
In this role, you will own the applied AI roadmap for industrial automation, including computer vision for quality inspection, predictive maintenance models for production equipment, and robotics perception and control systems. You will lead deployment of edge AI models onto factory-floor hardware with real-time latency and reliability constraints, and direct integration of AI systems with industrial robotics platforms and PLC/SCADA infrastructure.
You will build and lead a team of applied AI engineers, robotics engineers, and computer vision specialists, partner with manufacturing engineering on production line integration and safety validation, and represent AI and robotics strategy to plant leadership and executive stakeholders. You will also evaluate build-vs-buy decisions for robotics platforms and drive the organisation's roadmap for scaling AI deployment across additional production sites.
