This is a broad role within the legal team and as Elgin grows it is likely that the role will evolve and change with the business. Initially, the role will involve assisting with all aspects of Elgin Energy’s operations, with a particular focus on real estate, energy, funding, and corporate sales, including:

You will:

• Support the development team in real estate negotiations for the assembly of large-scale solar and storage sites in Germany, including options, agreements for lease, easements, etc.
• Manage development funding obligations including securing project finance and other funding arrangements.
• Collaborate with various internal departments and stakeholders to provide legal support throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct legal research, assess risks, and provide recommendations related to project execution and compliance.
• Collaborate with and participate in recurring meetings with the in-house legal team in Dublin, maintaining cohesive approaches and high standards.
• Review project contracts, agreements, and related documents.
• Monitor project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure legal compliance.
• Assist in corporate matters including joint ventures and corporate disposals.
• Review and advise on commercial contracts such as letters of engagement and agreements with third-party suppliers; and
• Manage and instruct external counsel.

Your profile

• 5+ years of post-qualification experience in a top-tier firm or in-house.
• Experience across a range of corporate transactions including mergers & acquisitions, restructurings, and venture capital.
• Highly organized and efficient with an ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Experience across energy, projects, financing, and corporate matters.
• Excellent drafting, communication, and organizational skills.
• A high level of motivation and a friendly manner to enable effective and positive engagement with colleagues, external legal counsel, and key stakeholders.
• The ability to work proactively and within a team.
• A flexible approach to work.
