Immigration Consultant with German and English, Business Mobility Services

DESCRIPTION
Amazon's Immigration Team is growing its best-in-class team to deliver exceptional immigration support to Amazon businesses, employees, and candidates across the EU region. The team of consultants, specialists, and experienced immigration subject matter experts act as strategic partners and consultants to Amazon business leaders and partner teams. The team centrally manages immigration filings and the vendors that support Amazon, and delivers projects to improve the cost, quality, and compliance for immigration services at Amazon.

We are seeking an experienced Immigration Consultant to support the needs of our growing DEU immigration team based in Berlin. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily immigration service execution as part of the DEU immigration case working team. The team executes a high volume of cases, managing immigration requirements for sponsored employees across different jurisdictions and their family members.

This is a case working role where you will act as the single point of contact throughout an employee's DEU immigration lifecycle.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Filing and executing immigration cases, coordinating between recruitment, onboarding, and other HR stakeholders and government authorities; formulating and executing the best possible immigration strategy for each employee.
  2. Manage a high caseload of applications. A typical caseload would be 45-50 cases comprising new Visas, renewals, cancellations, and amendments of work permits and residency visas; each filing includes sub-applications related to work permit, entry permit, and residency for each applicant.
  3. Coordinate with other team members for drafting, submission, and collection of documents/approval notices.
  4. Manage a high volume of communications with employees and several internal groups while meeting the team response SLA within a single business day or sooner, depending on the case timelines.
  5. Participate in formulating action plans to resolve issues.
  6. Contribute to, and drive, process improvement initiatives, beginning with identifying defects or evaluating customer complaints but also considering where the team can increase efficiency and continuously upscale the quality of service.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelor's degree in a related field
  2. Experience of hands-on German corporate immigration experience.
  3. Excellent German and English written and verbal communication skills (C1 CEFR)
  4. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  5. Process optimization experience.
