Job summary

Remotely is assisting a leading renewable energy company to hire an IFRS Senior Accountant in Hamburg. This role focuses on ensuring transparent, compliant reporting across the organization and advising on complex accounting matters.

You will help develop Group-wide accounting policies, support IFRS-compliant financial statements and disclosures, monitor regulatory changes, and collaborate with auditors and international teams. A hybrid work model offers 2–3 days from home.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Recognized professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA or CA.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and ability to explain complex standards.

Job description

Our client is one of the leaders in the renewable energy sector. For their Financial Management team we are now looking for an IFRS Senior Accountant to guarantee a transparent reporting across the organization.

Please note working from Hamburg is mandatory for this position and you will have the option to work 2-3 days from home.

In this role, you play a key role in ensuring high-quality, transparent, and compliant financial reporting across the company. You act as a trusted advisor on complex accounting matters, support international stakeholders, and contribute to the continuous development of accounting standards, processes, and governance. Combining deep technical expertise with a pragmatic approach, you help strengthen consistency, compliance, and professional judgment across the global finance organization.

YOUR TASKS

• Provide expert guidance on complex IFRS accounting matters and support key accounting decisions across the organization
• Develop, maintain, and enhance Group-wide accounting policies to ensure consistent application across all entities
• Support the preparation of IFRS-compliant financial statements, disclosures, and technical accounting documentation
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on reporting, accounting policies, and financial processes
• Serve as a key contact for auditors and internal stakeholders on technical accounting and reporting topics
• Design and deliver accounting and IFRS-related training programs to strengthen technical expertise across finance teams
• Contribute to finance transformation initiatives, including process improvements, reporting enhancements, and governance projects

YOUR PROFILE

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, ideally complemented by a recognized professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, or Chartered Accountant
• Several years of experience in Technical Accounting, Group Reporting, Audit, or Accounting Advisory
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and the ability to translate complex accounting requirements into practical business solutions
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess and resolve complex accounting issues independently
• Strong understanding of the connection between accounting decisions, financial reporting, and business performance
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build credibility with international stakeholders at all organizational levels
• Fluent English skills; other European language will be a plus
