It is used for transmitting energy over long distances, connecting electricity networks with minimal losses, and alleviating power quality issues, contributing to grid stabilization. For offshore wind power and underwater transmissions, direct current is the most viable energy transmission method.

The opportunity

As a Software Engineer, you will join our Global HVDC Control & Protection Software team within the system supervision & communication department. Our team handles Converter Control & Protection Systems, Sequence & Interlocking Systems, Supervision & System Communication, Auxiliary Power Systems, and Simulation & Verification.

• You will be involved in all phases of software delivery, including design, maintenance, testing, integration, verification, and deployment.
• You will ensure the safe and reliable operation of plants and transmission links, with opportunities for international travel for commissioning and customer meetings.
• You will work on documentation and customer training.
• You will take responsibility and ownership, planning and organizing your daily tasks effectively.
• You will proactively solve challenges in collaboration with stakeholders.

Your background

• You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, High Voltage, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• You are fluent in German and English, both spoken and written.
• You have experience in software development and programming.
• You have an interest or experience in digital control technology, signal processing, and filtering.
• You have an interest or experience in the electric power industry.
