Jobbeschreibung

Overview

Administers the labor relations program as it relates to local national and USLN employees. Provides guidance to management and employees on HR policies, procedures, practices, German Labor Law and coordination with Works Council. Performs documentation necessary for placing newly hired LN and USLR employees on the payroll; arrange for orientations of new employees, is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of effective Human Resources strategies and programs in Germany, encompassing all areas of Human Resources including, but not limited to, international human resources, compensation, benefits, recruitment, HRIS, employee relations, policy administration. Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) input for German LN payroll, entry and updates to HR/payroll systems. In the absence of the US HR Specialist HRIS data entry in the US HR system.

This Position is located in Wackernheim with a 50% teleworking option.

This is a Local National position in Germany. As such the employee will be subject to paying German taxes and be part of the German work force with all the benefits of HN employment and social system.


Responsibilities

  • Provides HR support to management and employees, functioning as a HR generalist.
  • Provides guidance to management and employees on HR policies, procedures, practices, German Labor Law and coordination with Works Council as required.
  • Conducts investigations and resolves employee relations related issues, including grievances.
  • Point of contact for lawyers and court, preparation of legal proceedings and documents. Position will assist in recruitment and selection process as necessary.
  • Participation and delivery of various training/development initiatives related to employee relations.
  • Performs special studies and research in areas that impact employee relations of assigned locations, close coordination with the Works Council and prepare activities in relation to lay-offs to include severance package based on German Labor Law.
  • Correspondences in English/German to include regular translation.
  • Responsible for correct recruitment under the Local National system assuring the German law is followed.
  • Interface with German foreigner’s office to obtain Work/Residence permits or any other related issues, labor office, Health Insurances, etc.
  • Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) input for German LN payroll, entry and updates to HR/payroll systems.
  • In the absence of the US HR Specialist HRIS data entry in the US HR system
  • Other duties as required by the Program Manager and/or HR business Partner Manager.

Qualifications

Education/Certifications:

  • One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, related field or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Three to Five (3 – 5) years related work experience in a variety of HR disciplines, gained through progressively more responsible HR related work experience.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills and the proven ability to effectively interface with employees at various levels of the organization.
  • Expert knowledge of German labor laws. Ability to utilize computer systems and software applications and maintain high level of confidentiality.

Skills:

  • Must be fluent in German and English verbally, reading and in writing.
  • Computer skills include a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and payroll system.
