Freelance Safety Technician | Data Centre Construction | Germany

I'm currently working with a leading data centre developer involved in some of Germany's largest hyperscale developments. Due to continued growth, we are looking to speak with experienced Safety Technicians who are looking to further develop their careers within major mission-critical construction environments.

Location: Germany

Start Date: Flexible

Rate: DOE

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and enforce health & safety standards across active construction sites.
• Ensure subcontractors are working in accordance with site safety procedures, risk assessments, and project protocols.
• Review and manage HSE documentation, permits, method statements, and safety records.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
• Identify and report non-conformances whilst supporting corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate closely with construction, commissioning, and subcontractor teams to maintain a safe working environment.
• Experience working as a Safety Technician, HSE Technician, HSSE Coordinator, Safety Coordinator, or similar role within construction.
• Strong understanding of subcontractor safety management and site compliance requirements.
• Experience reviewing and maintaining HSE documentation and safety records.
• Knowledge of construction site procedures, risk assessments, permits to work, and safety protocols.
• Fluent German and English.
• Experience on hyperscale data centre, industrial, infrastructure, energy, or mission-critical construction projects.
• Exposure to HV infrastructure, MEP installations, commissioning, and multi-contractor environments.
• SCC, NEBOSH, IOSH, SiGeKo, or equivalent safety qualifications.
• Ability to work independently while supporting site-wide safety objectives.

This opportunity would suit a Safety Technician who is happy to take on a junior to mid-level position whilst being responsible for subcontractor safety, compliance, documentation control, and maintaining high HSE standards across complex construction projects.
