We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced HR generalist to join our growing team of HR Regional Partners in Germany, based in Munich or Berlin. Amazon HR Regional Partners (HRPs) in the EMEA region act as consultants to more than 4,000 people managers across 20 countries. Operating autonomously and delivering high-judgment advice, HRPs help enable an exceptional customer and employee experience.

HRPs collaborate with business and HR stakeholders, including:

  • HR Business Partners (HRBPs) focused on delivering HR strategies for their supported lines of business.
  • Centers of Excellence, including Employee Services (HR administration), Compensation & Benefits, and Talent Acquisition.

HRPs must have strong knowledge of German employment law, be skilled in consulting on Amazon policies, and build trust by providing high-judgment guidance on people-related topics. They work as generalists across multiple corporate businesses, partnering with leaders to provide quick, efficient, high-quality consultation.

This role utilizes an innovative customer relationship management tool, enabling the team to identify trending issues through data analysis and inform decisions. The HRP team also standardizes best practices across EMEA, leveraging extensive insights across business lines.

Key job responsibilities

The HRP team is responsible for:

  • Providing guidance to HRBPs and business leaders on change management initiatives.
  • Managing performance processes, both informal and formal.
  • Handling complex and sensitive employee issues, including investigations, disciplinary, and grievance procedures.
  • Facilitating development sessions to build manager effectiveness and capability.
  • Supporting Employee Relations cases, including interactions with Workers Councils and labor inspections (strong knowledge of German labor law is mandatory).
  • Identifying training opportunities to develop functional and leadership skills.
  • Supporting leaders with career conversations and growth plans.

A day in the life

In addition to core case work, the HRP team manages policy and compliance at the country level, staying informed about legislative updates and Amazon-driven changes, and utilizing strong written skills to update policy documents. The team also participates or leads subject matter groups to improve HR processes across EMEA and manages ER cases and negotiations with Workers Councils.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a related field
  • Extensive HR generalist experience
  • Strong knowledge of German employment law
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Strong HR acumen, problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
  • Experience in a matrix organization
  • Ability to deliver results independently and in teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience managing Works Councils in Germany
  • Track record of accomplishments in a fast-paced, customer-driven international environment
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and optimize resources
  • Project management skills with a history of influencing through data-driven recommendations
