The Department

The Human Resources (HR) department aims to provide a value-added service to Mizuho by partnering with all levels and departments of the business. The department strives to adopt HR best practice to support the business and does so by translating company strategy into specific HR requirements, solutions, and projects. In addition to core HR services, the department is responsible for local and expatriate payrolls, expatriate tax matters, immigration, compensation and benefits, benchmarking as well as regulatory and statutory reporting and all related accounting. The Frankfurt HR department works in close coordination with colleagues across Mizuho Group in Europe.

Job summary

The HR OPS is responsible for maintaining a professional and high service level for the output on all HR related operations. The HR OPS is responsible for HR related systems, registrations, administration and other HR related operations, including first line employee and managers communication. This role provides great opportunity for role holder to participate in developing Mizuho’s future HR model and actively shaping change focusing also on cultural attitude.

Responsibilities

  • First point of contact for staff and managers in advising on HR administrative related topics
  • Preparation of employment contracts and comprehensive HR support
  • Responsible for the on- and offboarding process : updating systems, informing third parties, etc.
  • Advising managers and employees on wage tax, social security including company pension scheme and payroll related queries
  • Processing of notifications, reports and certificates (upon request)
  • Communication and correspondence with authorities, health insurances and external providers
  • Managing leave process, monitor compliance of self-service around holiday / special leave and advising on special leaves such as parental leave, unpaid leave etc.
  • Support the HR Business Partners

Desired skills and experience

  • Completed commercial vocational training or comparable qualifications
  • 2-3 years of professional experience in operational HR work in a similar field of activity, ideally in an international bank and / or in the service sector
  • Good knowledge of German labour and social security law
  • Solid experience of MS- Office; HR IS like SuccessFactors would be a plus
  • High sense of responsibility as well as a confident and authoritative manner, combined with a service-oriented and very independent way of working
  • Hands-on mentality
  • Good eye for detail
  • Excellent communication skills in both German and English
  • Team player with ability to work on own initiative
