Job summary

Marabu Airlines is seeking an experienced HR Manager to oversee German employment matters at our bases (FRA, HAM, NUE, LEJ) with visits to the Tallinn HQ. You will ensure compliance with German labour law, handle disputes and labour issues, and coordinate with authorities.

You will support onboarding in Germany and work with external counsel, payroll providers, and Tallinn HR to improve local processes and advocate for an inclusive, international team.

Qualifications

• Fluent English and German required.
• 5+ years experience in HR or labour relations.
• Practical knowledge of German employment law and HR processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee employment contracts, amendments, employment standards and compliance with German labour law requirements.
• Handle or coordinate employee disputes, terminations, investigations and other employee relations matters.
• Act as local contact for German tax offices, social security agencies, labour offices and other authorities; coordinate registrations and submissions.
• Support the Tallinn payroll team with German payroll, tax and social security questions.
• Provide support for German labour-law topics and HR questions from crew in Tallinn.
• Support onboarding activities in Germany and provide a local HR presence.
• Coordinate with external legal counsel and payroll providers for German HR needs.
• Identify recurring German HR topics and improve local processes and documentation.
• Provide advice on union-related topics in cooperation with Tallinn HR and Legal.

Job description

The role can be based at any of our German bases (FRA, HAM, NUE or LEJ). Due to the nature of the position, frequent visits to our other German bases as well as to our HQ in Tallinn will be required.

• Oversee employment contracts, amendments, employment standards and compliance with applicable German labour law requirements
• Handle or coordinate employee disputes, terminations, investigations and other employee relations matters in cooperation with HR and Legal where required
• Act as local contact for German tax offices, social security agencies, labour offices and other authorities; coordinate registrations and required submissions
• Support the Tallinn payroll team with German payroll, tax and social security questions and local escalations
• Provide support for German labour-law topics and more complex HR questions from crew members, managers and the HR team in Tallinn
• Support new crew onboarding activities in Germany and provide a local HR presence
• Coordinate with external legal counsel, payroll providers and other German HR service providers when required
• Identify recurring German HR topics and improve local processes, documentation and cooperation between German operations and HR in Tallinn
• Provide advice and support on union-related topics, including employee relations issues with union relevance, consultation requirements and communications with employee representatives, in cooperation with HR in Tallinn and Legal where required

• Relevant university degree or equivalent professional experience in HR, labour relations, business administration or a related field
• 5+ years similar working experience
• Practical experience with German employment matters and HR administration
• Fluent English and German skills
• Practical knowledge of German employment law and HR processes
• Experience in both unionised and non-unionised environments
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and advise stakeholders confidently
• Aviation HR experience is bonus
