Job summary

Marabu Airlines seeks an experienced HR specialist to oversee German employment matters across FRA, HAM, NUE or LEJ, with regular visits to HQ in Tallinn.

In this on-site role, you will manage contracts, compliance, and employee relations, collaborate with HR and Legal, and support onboarding for crews in Germany.

Fluent German and English are required, aviation HR experience is a plus, and you will interact with authorities and external partners to ensure local HR excellence.

Qualifications

• Relevant university degree or equivalent professional experience in HR, labour relations, business administration or a related field
• 5+ years similar working experience
• Practical experience with German employment matters and HR administration
• Fluent English and German skills
• Practical knowledge of German employment law and HR processes
• Experience in both unionised and non-unionised environments
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and advise stakeholders confidently
• Aviation HR experience is bonus

Responsibilities

• Oversee German employment contracts, amendments and compliance with labour law.
• Manage employee relations, disputes, terminations and investigations with HR/Legal.
• Act as local contact for tax offices, social security, labour offices; coordinate submissions.
• Support Tallinn payroll on German payroll, tax and social security queries.
• Advise on German labour-law topics for crew, managers and Tallinn HR.
• Support onboarding of crew in Germany and maintain local HR presence.
• Coordinate with external counsel, payroll providers and German HR partners.
• Identify recurring German HR topics and improve local processes with Tallinn HR.
• Advise on union-related matters and communications with employee representatives.

Job description

The role can be based at any of our German bases (FRA, HAM, NUE or LEJ). Due to the nature of the position, frequent visits to our other German bases as well as to our HQ in Tallinn will be required.

• Oversee employment contracts, amendments, employment standards and compliance with applicable German labour law requirements
• Handle or coordinate employee disputes, terminations, investigations and other employee relations matters in cooperation with HR and Legal where required
• Act as local contact for German tax offices, social security agencies, labour offices and other authorities; coordinate registrations and required submissions
• Support the Tallinn payroll team with German payroll, tax and social security questions and local escalations
• Provide support for German labour-law topics and more complex HR questions from crew members, managers and the HR team in Tallinn
• Support new crew onboarding activities in Germany and provide a local HR presence
• Coordinate with external legal counsel, payroll providers and other German HR service providers when required
• Identify recurring German HR topics and improve local processes, documentation and cooperation between German operations and HR in Tallinn
• Provide advice and support on union-related topics, including employee relations issues with union relevance, consultation requirements and communications with employee representatives, in cooperation with HR in Tallinn and Legal where required
