The Role

BUOYANCY AEROSPACE is seeking a highly dependable, solutions-focused HR Manager to independently lead our administrative operations in Hamburg. This is a standalone leadership role that requires a proactive and trustworthy individual who can provide practical solutions, not just flag problems, across HR and general admin domains.

As the go-to person in Hamburg, the successful candidate will report into the Germany Geschäftsführung, support the Production Manager and Head of Quality & Compliance in running the Hamburg site, and maintain a dotted reporting line into the London HQ. They will be a cultural ambassador and must be instrumental in reinforcing our desired Behaviours in Hamburg by being change-oriented, and intolerant of negativity; and must be comfortable operating outside of rigid job definitions when required by adopting a “solutions not problems” mindset to problems and business requirements.

Key Accountabilities

• Ownership of HR administration
• Drafting contracts, handling onboarding / offboarding, managing staff changes
• Supporting employee relations, including documentation for warnings, terminations, reference letters, and temporary staffing
• Managing payrolls and external temporary work force
• Running or supporting company-wide HR initiatives
• Feedback and performance review cycles
• Employee development and cultural programmes
• Compensation, benefits, and recognition schemes
• Comfortable creating and maintaining policies, processes, and SOPs
• Maintenance and digitisation of personnel files and HR documentation
• Creating structured, easily accessible documentation across both HR and administration in general
• Reporting workforce data and site-level HR metrics to the London HQ
• Advising leadership on pay structures, team dynamics, and performance frameworks to build a high-performing, cohesive workforce
• Swiss-army-knife mindset and execution: switching comfortably between hands-on tasks and strategic work in a high-growth, fast-changing environment
• Support of other departments in projects and day-to-day business

Candidate Profile

Essential Requirements :

• Experienced in leading or organising HR projects and initiatives
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Comfortable creating company documentation, procedures, and structures
• High levels of integrity, discretion, and personal accountability
• Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with cloud-based systems
• Fluent in German and English

Desirable :

• Experience in aerospace, defence, manufacturing, or similar operational environments
• Prior role supporting production, operations, or site-level leadership teams

Compensation and Location

This role offers a competitive salary and is based full-time at our Hamburg site.
