As our People & Organization (P&O) team continues to grow, we are establishing an in-house center of excellence for Labor and employment law. This role is central to that transformation—providing expert legal counsel, reducing dependency on external legal advisors, and ensuring full compliance with German Labor legislation.

The HR Expert (m / f / d) will act as a trusted legal partner to the HR team, guiding complex employment matters and interactions with works councils. Beyond legal advisory, this role will play a key part in building internal capability by delivering targeted legal training and upskilling initiatives, empowering our HR professionals to navigate Labor law confidently and independently. We are looking for a part-time colleague (20 hours per week) to join as soon as possible.

Your tasks include :

  • Legal Advisory: Provide expert counsel on labor law, manage disputes, and support negotiations with works councils and unions.
  • Compliance: Ensure HR practices and documents align with German labor law and collective agreements.
  • Training & Upskilling: Deliver legal training to HR staff, building internal capability and reducing reliance on external counsel.
  • Risk Management: Identify legal risks and support compliant performance and disciplinary processes.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain legally sound templates and agreements.

You’ll be successful in this role when you effectively reduce external legal costs by enhancing in-house capabilities and receive positive feedback from P&O colleagues and stakeholders. Additionally, your proactive legal support will boost the HR team's confidence in labor law matters and contribute to smoother, more compliant HR operations.

You’re the Ideal Profile If You...

  • Hold a law degree and are licensed to practice in Germany (“Volljurist”) & meeting the requirements of §46 BRAO.
  • Bring proven expertise in labor and employment law.
  • Relevant legal experience in a similar role, ideally across both law firms and in-house roles.
  • Are experienced in advising or working closely with HR departments.
  • Possess strong knowledge of German and international Labor law frameworks.
  • Are fluent in German and English (minimum B2 level).
