About the Role

SafeRide Health is seeking a Software Data Engineer to help drive our mission of reducing barriers to care through scalable data products. In this role, you will work across departments including Product, Operations, Revenue, and Engineering to design and build data-powered interfaces, APIs, and front-end components that serve both internal and external stakeholders. You’ll contribute to the evolution of our data platform - currently a lakehouse architecture - by creating accessible, scalable, and secure data experiences that support healthcare decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain data services, APIs, and applications used across departments.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, BI Analysts, and Product Managers to gather requirements and translate them into usable data products.
  • Develop front-end components and dashboards using React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
  • Write clean, efficient, and scalable Python and SQL code for data access and manipulation.
  • Support the integration of new data sources and assist in data modeling.
  • Contribute to data governance and compliance, including HIPAA/HITRUST-aligned practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data issues across platforms and teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience with Python and SQL.
  • 3+ years of experience with modern cloud-based data architectures.
  • 2+ years of experience with big data tools (BigQuery, Spark) or distributed data systems.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript frameworks like Node.js, React, TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with Flask and/or Next.js for building user-facing applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS data tools (Redshift, S3, Glue, Athena).
  • Exposure to data science techniques, statistical models, or ML pipelines.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA, HITRUST, or other healthcare compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with Docker or containerization technologies.
  • Demonstrated success in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
