Freelance High-Voltage Electrician / Technician — 12-Month Contract

Contract: Freelance

Duration: 12 months

German speaking is essential for this role.

We are looking for experienced High-Voltage Electricians and Technicians to support a major energy infrastructure project based between Leipzig and Berlin.

This is a hands-on role for technicians with strong experience working on HV equipment, substations, grid infrastructure and electrical commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Installation, testing and maintenance of HV electrical equipment
• Work on substations, transformers, switchgear and associated systems
• HV cable installation and termination
• Testing and commissioning of electrical systems
• Fault-finding and troubleshooting
• Carrying out electrical inspections and functional tests
• Supporting energisation and grid-connection activities
• Working closely with HV engineers, commissioning teams and grid operators
• Maintaining high standards of electrical safety and compliance

Experience required

• Proven hands-on experience with high-voltage electrical systems
• Experience in substations, utilities, grid infrastructure, renewable energy or industrial power systems
• Experience with HV switchgear, transformers and electrical protection systems
• Previous commissioning or testing experience highly desirable
• Strong understanding of HV safety procedures and isolation requirements
• Ability to work from electrical drawings and technical documentation
• Professional working proficiency in English; German is advantageous
