As a trusted voice for many of the world's most successful organizations, we use our knowledge to advance safety and performance, set industry benchmarks, and inspire and invent solutions to tackle global transformations.

About the role

We are looking for a High Voltage Electrical Engineer / Consultant (m/f/d) to support our customers worldwide in ensuring and improving the economic efficiency, sustainability, and reliability of their high-voltage transmission and distribution infrastructure.

You will be part of the Transmission & Distribution Technology Team, consisting of 50 professionals with diverse backgrounds and academic degrees (PhD, M.Sc., B.Sc.) as well as various cultural perspectives. Together, we provide specialized and innovative consulting services to our clients.

Our main clients include transmission and distribution system operators, energy suppliers, and industrial companies. You will be involved in national and international projects and work closely with other teams within DNV, such as in the areas of substations, asset management, and renewable energies.

Your responsibilities
  • You will take on engineering and consulting tasks and advise our customers in the field of high-voltage transmission and distribution infrastructure (T&D).
  • You will carry out electrical designs for AC and DC systems, substations, interconnectors, or components of overhead lines, including insulation design, lightning protection, and conductor selection.
  • You will be responsible for creating specifications and tender documents and accompany commissioning tests, such as factory and site acceptance tests (FAT and SAT).
  • You will also write high-quality reports and commercial offers to document technical expertise and business opportunities.
  • You will identify market opportunities, assist in the further development of our service portfolio, and actively contribute to business development.

What we offer

A challenging and varied role in a dynamic and international environment. You will be part of a professional team of dedicated colleagues and have numerous opportunities for personal development. The position is competitively compensated and includes good additional benefits.

Based on your experience, we will jointly develop an individual development plan for the coming years. We rely on our 70-20-10 philosophy: 70% learning on the job, 20% coaching, and 10% training.

You have the opportunity to develop into a (Senior) Consultant role, where you will acquire, lead, and execute projects to support customers in achieving their project goals. Alternatively, you can establish yourself as a Senior Technology Expert and be recognized as an international authority in your field.

DEI Statement: DNV is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants regardless of gender, religion, ethnicity, national or ethnic origin, cultural background, social group, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, age, or political opinion. Diversity is an essential part of our corporate culture, and we invite you to be part of this diversity.

About you

We are looking for a proactive and ambitious person as a High Voltage Electrical Engineer / Consultant (m/f/d) who is an enthusiastic and results-oriented team player. You take responsibility for your tasks and competencies and go beyond. Curiosity, commitment, and enjoyment of work drive you, and you have an open mindset, are eager to learn, and enjoy exploring new approaches outside of conventional patterns. At the same time, you have a strong customer orientation and understand how to place the needs of our customers at the center of your work.

You have
  • A Master's or Doctorate in Electrical Engineering or a similar field.
  • Solid and in-depth professional experience with T&D main equipment, including in the T&D sector.
  • Experience working with clients in Western Europe is an advantage.
  • Very good communication skills in German, both verbal and written.
  • Willingness to travel about 20% of your working time abroad.
