Qualifikationen

Job Description:

Diagnoses system malfunctions, isolate causes, and correct deficiencies.

Dismantles and reassembles equipment, using Technical Manuals (TM).

Inspects, repairs, and replaces components, engines, transmissions, and sub-assemblies.

Identifies parts in repair manuals and places order request for needed parts.

Performs scheduled services on equipment fleet.

Performs road test on vehicles after repairs and services have been completed.

Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Maintains a daily timesheet and daily manning report, ensuring times are accurate.

All APS-2 contractor mechanics are expected to provide their own basic mechanics tool set.

Qualification & Experience Requirements: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

High School graduate or equivalent.

6 years’ experience as a mechanic is required.

4 years’ specialized experience working with heavy equipment track vehicles equivalent to the M1A2, M2A3, M109A6.

Army MOS 91A/91M/91P is preferred.

Must be able to meet and maintain all base access security requirements.

Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

Must have or be able to obtain a US Passport.

Specialized knowledge and skills:

Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.

Must have the ability to analyze and interpret Army Technical Manuals with relation to vehicle maintenance and repair.

May be required to obtain a military driver’s license (OF 346).

Additional Requirements:

1. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Stooping, sitting, kneeling, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds by themselves-51+ with the assistance of another person, touching dexterity (hand and finger), carrying, clear seeing-general, close vision, color perception, clear speech, driving vehicle, moving objects.
2. Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively up to a 48-hour work week.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and outside weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to situations where risk of electrical shock and vibration exist. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
