HVAC Engineer – Building Services & Energy Efficiency (Permanent Role)

Engagement Type : Full-time, Permanent

Start Date : Immediate or by agreement

Salary : €85,000 to €100,000

We are supporting an established engineering consultancy group in their search for a permanent HVAC Engineer to join a growing interdisciplinary team focused on sustainable building design and advanced technical planning.

The role is based within a dynamic organisation known for its excellence in structural design, safety engineering, and real estate consultancy, with over 60 years of expertise across national and international projects.

You will play a key role in the design, coordination, and execution of HVAC systems for a variety of building types—from complex infrastructure to energy-optimised commercial developments. Occasional travel to project sites will be required.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan HVAC systems across all design phases (preliminary to detailed planning)
• Support integrated building design teams with thermal and energy modelling
• Prepare technical specifications, tender documents, and construction drawings
• Oversee site activities, perform technical reviews, and coordinate with contractors
• Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and energy efficiency targets
• Collaborate with in-house specialists in structural design, security, and cost management

Your Profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or similar discipline
• 3+ years’ experience in HVAC planning or building services engineering
• Sound understanding of energy-efficient system design and building regulations
• Structured and solution-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
• German language skill required; English an asset
• Experience of technically challenging and high-security projects is advantageous
