Job Description

The Hardware Engineer will be responsible for the electrical hardware design and development of medical products, including:

• Working mainly on medical machines comprised of electrical, mechanical, electromagnetic components, user interfaces, and software,
• Designing high-safety HMIs, sensor probes, sensor interfaces, and actuators,
• Ensuring designs meet requirements and are optimized for production, reliability, and cost,
• Collaborating with manufacturing to address issues and provide quick design solutions,
• Handling hardware development cycle tasks such as concept design, system requirements, component selection, schematic entry, PCB layout, and creating assembly drawings and functional diagrams,
• Building prototypes, analyzing and troubleshooting analog and digital circuits, and testing circuits with laboratory equipment,
• Participating in EMC testing and troubleshooting,
• Conducting engineering testing with appropriate methodologies, protocols, and procedures,
• Working closely with manufacturing and test engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelors/Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent,
• Experience with sensors interfacing, power supplies, and microprocessor-based designs (e.g., STM32),
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment or healthcare industry standards,
• Proficiency with ECAD tools such as Mentor PADS, ALTIUM,
• Knowledge of requirement management tools like Polarion, DOORS, Teamcenter,
• Understanding of EU, US, and international medical quality and safety standards (IEC 60601, RoHS, ISO 13485),
• Knowledge of IPC standards for design and manufacturing,
• Skills in electrical schematic interpretation, circuit design, troubleshooting, and repair,
• Experience with design for test, reliability, and quality methodologies,
• Fluent in English; German language skills are a plus.
