Jobbeschreibung

The Hardware Engineer will be responsible for the electrical hardware design and development of medical products:

  • Working mainly on medical machines comprised of electrical, mechanical, electromagnetic components, user interfaces, and software,
  • Working on up-to-date high-safety HMIs, sensor probes and sensor interfaces, actuators,
  • Responsible for designs that meet requirements and are optimized for production, reliability, and cost,
  • Working closely with the manufacturing team to support addressing manufacturing issues and offering quick solutions from a design perspective,
  • The hardware development cycle involves concept design, system and subsystem requirements, component selection, schematic entry and PCB layout, cable and assembly drawings, flow and timing functional diagrams,
  • Working on prototype builds, analog and digital circuit analysis, troubleshooting, and circuit testing using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, and function generators,
  • Involvement in EMC testing activities and troubleshooting,
  • Conducting engineering testing including test and evaluation methodologies, protocols, and procedures,
  • Cooperation with manufacturing and test engineers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent,
  • Familiar with sensor interfacing, power supply, and microprocessor-based designs (e.g., STM32),
  • Experience with laboratory equipment or healthcare industry,
  • Good knowledge of ECAD tools such as Mentor PADS, ALTIUM,
  • Knowledge of requirement management tools like Polarion, DOORS, Teamcenter,
  • Knowledge of EU, US, and international medical quality, safety standards, emissions, and immunity (IEC -1 / -1-2, RoHS, ISO),
  • Knowledge of IPC standards for design and manufacturing (IPC A, etc.),
  • Ability to interpret electronic systems schematics, design electrical circuits, electrical cables, and troubleshoot and repair equipment,
  • Experience and knowledge of design for test, reliability, and quality methodologies,
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in German is appreciated.
