The Berlin House of Representatives represents around 3.6 million citizens. This is where the MPs pass laws, monitor the government and make policy for the capital. The work in the administration of the House of Representatives is an important service for democracy in Berlin. The employees of the House of Representatives support the work of parliament both in terms of content and organization. Open-minded and capable staff are needed for this task.

  • Department I (General Administration) -

is looking for an employee for the following position :

Head of the IT department (m / f / d)

Code number : 603

Pay grade : E 15 TV-L (The higher evaluation according to AT 1 of the AT payment guidelines of the state of Berlin is sought)

Available : September 1, 2025, open-ended

Working hours : Full-time with 39.4 hours per week

Head of the Information Technology department including event technology and telephony. Fundamental concept for the further development of the entire IT infrastructure, including IT security. Management, control and optimization of IT processes. Development and implementation of strategic guidelines. Project management; participation in committees and project groups. Financial and personnel planning; procurement of software and hardware.

  • Successfully completed academic university degree (Master's / Magister / Univ. Diploma) in one of the following or comparable disciplines, e.g. computer science, media informatics, natural sciences or economics
  • Sound knowledge of essential IT system technologies
  • Several years of professional experience in essential parts of the described area of responsibility
  • Practical experience in the areas of operating systems (especially various UNIX / Linux derivatives, MS Windows) and network technologies (TCP / IP-based networks)
  • Ability to carry out larger development projects
  • Knowledge in the development and implementation of security concepts (e.g. firewall, data backup procedures, network and system security)
  • Above-average performance and commitment, high resilience
  • Communication and decision-making skills
  • Strong service skills, organizational skills, sense of responsibility and reliability
  • Continuous further training; independent familiarization with new subject areas
  • Ability and experience in personnel management
  • In addition to business fluent knowledge of German (at least C1), good knowledge of English is also required
