As Head of Technology for Voith Hydro Generators you are a crucial contributor to shaping the current and future technology portfolio for Voith Hydro’s electric machines globally.

Responsibilities

• Continuously improve Voith Hydro’s tools portfolio for electromagnetic, loss and cooling calculations for electric machines including the definition of calculation procedures.
• Explore new technologies applicable or adaptable for electric machines and define and execute R&D programs to ensure Voith Hydro’s technology leadership.
• Provide functional and disciplinary leadership to a team of highly experienced experts.
• Provide global support with efficiency, temperature and cooling flow measurements for electrical machines.
• Build and maintain a strong relationship with stakeholders and partners within the R&D community internal and external to Voith.
• Foster and maintain cooperation with universities and research institutions in the scientific field of large electric machines, converter and high-voltage technology.
• Represent Voith at industry forums, conferences and customer meetings.

Your Profile

• Successfully completed Master’s degree in electrical engineering or related field; PhD is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge and deep understanding of electric machine design principles and related technology.
• Curiosity and willingness to pursue new ideas.
• Knowledge of and experience with lean project management tools.
• Leadership experience is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of simulation software and tools landscape for electric machine design is required.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, and basic knowledge of German are required as well as willingness to travel worldwide.
