Zusammenfassung

Groupe SEB is seeking a Head of Software Development to strengthen our global software setup, lead our embedded software organization for professional coffee machines and beverage systems, and drive strategy across locations.

You will oversee architecture, development processes, and continuous improvement, travel internationally, and collaborate across brands to align software with product lifecycles.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable technical discipline.
• Senior-level experience in software development for mechatronic systems with international leadership and willingness to travel.
• Strong expertise across embedded, PC applications, distributed systems, web/backend/frontend, and mobile apps with hardware knowledge.
• Proficiency with modern software processes, UML, OO programming, requirements and risk management (e.g. FMEA), and tools like Polarion.
• Business-fluent German and English; strong communication and decision-making in a structured, fact-based style.

Aufgaben

• Disciplinary and technical leadership, building and improving software teams across international locations.
• Overall responsibility for strategic software solutions and architecture across Siemens/SEB Professional platforms throughout the product lifecycle.
• Define and develop a unified software strategy, engineering culture, and modern development processes across locations and brands.
• Plan and steer development projects (resources, timelines, costs, quality), including build and release management and documentation.
• Evaluate new technologies and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

We are looking for a Head of Software Development to further strengthen our global software setup, lead and further develop our embedded software organization for professional coffee machines and beverage systems.

What you can expect

• Disciplinary and technical leadership, as well as the build-up, development, and continuous improvement of software teams operating across multiple international locations
• Overall responsibility for the strategic software solutions and architecture of the SEB Professional software platforms throughout the entire product lifecycle
• Definition, further development, and assurance of a unified software strategy, engineering culture, and modern development processes across locations and brands
• Strategic planning and steering of development projects (resources, timelines, costs, quality), including build and release management as well as documentation
• Evaluation and introduction of new technologies, methods, and tools, as well as initiation and implementation of continuous improvement measures

What you need to succeed with us

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable technical discipline
• Several years of senior-level experience in software development for mechatronic systems, combined with strong leadership experience in an international environment and willingness to travel internationally
• Strong expertise across relevant software domains, including embedded systems, PC applications, distributed systems, web backend/frontend, and mobile applications, as well as a solid understanding of mechanics, hardware, sensor technology, drive systems, and control engineering
• Proven experience with modern software development processes, UML, object-oriented programming, requirements and risk management (e.g. FMEA, fault tree analysis), and engineering tools such as Polarion
• Business-fluent German and English (written and spoken), combined with excellent communication and decision-making skills and a structured, fact-based working style
