The SEO team is responsible for our performance in organic search engine results across all markets where ABOUT YOU operates. We collaborate closely with other teams such as shop development, content creation, and performance marketing. As part of the Marketing Intelligence and Technology unit, we focus on data and technology, relying on data to form hypotheses and build business cases. We aim to employ scalable solutions that can be rolled out across all shops, collecting data points to assess effectiveness and facilitate continuous learning and improvement.
Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of our SEO efforts across 25+ countries and 3 platforms (desktop web, mobile web, and app).
- Develop, monitor, and report KPIs to ensure transparency of SEO success.
- Drive the development of internal SEO tooling and our SEO data warehouse based on Google BigQuery.
- Define our SEO strategy aligned with business goals and oversee its execution from start to finish.
- Lead the SEO team, fostering a culture of transparency, continuous learning, and development, while maintaining team health metrics.
- Build relationships within the organization to establish SEO as a core component in processes across teams (e.g., shop development, content creation, performance marketing).
- Collaborate closely with the online shop team to implement SEO features.
- Stay updated on the latest SEO developments (Google updates, SERP features, SGE, etc.), assess their impact, and adapt strategies accordingly.
Requirements
- Practical experience in an SEO leadership role, preferably in an international, large-scale e-commerce environment.
- High degree of ownership and entrepreneurial spirit.
- Strong communication skills to advance SEO projects across stakeholders.
- Ability to develop, mentor, and coach team members.
- Continuously challenge and improve existing processes and routines.
- Ability to translate complex strategies into actionable tasks and communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members.
- Analytical skills with a data-driven decision-making approach.
- Experience developing scalable solutions and managing their implementation from start to finish.
- Solid understanding of technical SEO fundamentals (client-server interactions, HTTP status codes, crawling/rendering/indexing processes, HTML, CSS).
- Willingness to acquire skills in SQL, Python, or similar to automate tasks and query data warehouses.
- Experienced with common SEO tools (e.g., Search Console, Audisto, Screaming Frog, Sistrix).
- Professional English skills, both spoken and written, for effective communication in an international environment.
