Frequentis Comsoft in Karlsruhe seeks an experienced senior leader to guide R&D teams across multiple domains. You will translate strategy into development plans, own regulatory requirements (EASA, CRA), and drive agile delivery while coordinating with PM, Service, Quality and Governance groups.

Ideal candidates bring a track record of international leadership, strong engineering fundamentals, and fluency in English; German is an advantage.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years in software development, system development, or R&D environments.
• At least 5 years in a senior management role leading multiple teams.
• Proven experience leading international, cross-functional teams.
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies and agile frameworks.
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks, including EASA and CRA.

Key Tasks

• Lead and develop assigned R&D teams in alignment with corporate strategy and business objectives.


• Translate product and technology strategies into actionable development plans and ensure successful execution.


• Consolidate leadership responsibilities across the R&D organization to improve efficiency and accountability.


• Take centralized ownership of EASA and Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) product requirements and ensure compliance.


• Manage resources, budgets, competencies, risks, and escalations across multiple development initiatives.


• Ensure delivery capability for product development, releases, product roadmaps, and customer project support.


• Drive agile development processes and promote continuous improvement across teams.


• Advance customer- and market-oriented test automation strategies to improve quality and delivery performance.


• Reduce operational workload for Team Leads and Product Management by assuming overarching coordination responsibilities.


• Strengthen collaboration and communication with Project Management, Service, Quality Management, and Group Governance stakeholders.


• Foster a culture of quality, safety, security, regulatory compliance, and engineering excellence.


• Challenge existing processes and drive innovation to enhance products, capabilities, and organizational performance

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related field.


• 10+ years of professional experience in software development, system development, or R&D environments.


• At least 5 years of leadership experience in a senior management role with responsibility for multiple teams or functions.


• Proven experience leading international and cross-functional teams.


• Strong understanding of software development methodologies, agile frameworks, and modern engineering practices.


• Experience managing product development lifecycles, roadmaps, releases, and resource planning.


• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks, ideally including EASA requirements and the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).


• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to align diverse interests across functions and organizational levels.


• Excellent risk management, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.


• Outstanding communication and presentation skills in English; German is an advantage.


• Demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo and successfully drive organizational and technological change.
