Romira GmbH in Pinneberg seeks a Head of Purchasing with strong negotiation skills and leadership to shape our procurement strategy. You will lead a five-person team and manage international supplier relationships to secure materials for plastics and chemical applications.

The role requires a degree in business administration or industrial engineering, several years in procurement, and fluency in German with very good English. Travel internationally is expected.

Head of Purchasing (m/f/d)

Your responsibilities

• Conducting contract and price negotiations, including with international suppliers.
• Assuming technical and organizational leadership of the purchasing department, which consists of a team of five employees.
• Developing and implementing a forward-looking procurement strategy.
• Ensuring the cost-efficient and timely procurement of raw materials, additives, and packaging materials with an annual purchasing volume of over 50 million euros.
• Establishing, maintaining, and further developing strategic supplier relationships.
• Identifying and realizing cost optimization and savings potential.
• Analyzing procurement markets and assessing risks in the supply chain.
• Regular participation in international trade fairs and exhibitions.

Your profile

• A successfully completed degree in business administration, industrial engineering, or a comparable qualification.
• Several years of professional experience in strategic and operational procurement at a manufacturing company, ideally in the plastics, chemical, or process industries.
• Strong affinity for plastics and polymer materials.
• Proven experience leading employees and teams, combined with a cooperative, team-oriented mindset.
• Excellent understanding of supply chains, raw material markets, and procurement strategies.
• Proficiency in using ERP systems and standard Microsoft Office applications.
• Fluency in German and very good English skills.
• Willingness to travel internationally, particularly within Asia.
