Start: Immediately | Level: Head of | Location: Elmshorn (Schleswig-Holstein), hybrid | Working time: Fulltime (40h/Woche)

As Head of Procurement Operations (gn), you’ll shape and drive our procurement operations to support scale and resilience. You’ll combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution, ensuring reliable supply, cost-efficiency, and compliance. Together with cross-functional teams, you’ll build a procurement setup that grows with the business.

Your mission

• You develop and implement procurement policies, procedures, and best practices that ensure efficiency, compliance, and cost-effectiveness across all purchasing activities
• You take full ownership of the procurement process – from purchase order creation and supplier onboarding to performance tracking and invoice reconciliation
• You monitor and analyze procurement KPIs such as on-time delivery and vendor performance and translate your findings into clear reports and operational improvements
• You collaborate closely with Planning, Finance, Legal, and Operations teams to align procurement activities with company-wide goals and regulatory requirements
• You identify supply risks early, manage inventory levels proactively, and ensure continuity of supply in line with business needs and market conditions
• You champion the implementation and optimization of digital procurement tools and systems to enhance transparency, automation, and data accuracy across the function
• You lead, mentor, and empower a team of procurement professionals, fostering skill development, ownership, and high performance across the team

Your experience & skills

• You have hands-on experience with ERP and procurement systems such as SAP, Oracle, Coupa, or Ariba and know how to use them to structure and scale workflows
• You bring a solid background in procurement or supply chain roles, ideally in the food industry or a similarly dynamic, quality-sensitive sector
• You think analytically, act solution-oriented, and are comfortable navigating complex procurement environments with clarity and structure
• You communicate clearly, negotiate with confidence, and bring a proactive mindset when it comes to resolving challenges and building supplier relationships
• You know how to turn data into decisions and use KPIs to continuously improve cost, quality, and delivery performance
• You lead with confidence and empathy, providing your team with coaching, clarity, and development opportunities
• You are fluent in both German and English and communicate effectively across teams, locations, and levels
