Millar Cameron, in partnership with Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is seeking a Head of Procurement and Logistics to design, lead, and operationalize a modern, efficient function aligned with FSC’s strategic goals.

About the role

The Head of Procurement and Logistics role offers strategic and hands-on leadership across procurement, travel, events, and workplace management, driving efficient, digital, and value-focused services globally in support of FSC’s strategy.

Key dimensions of the role

The Head of Procurement and Logistics, based in Bonn, Germany, will have responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Lead the Procurement Team, ensuring efficient, timely, customer-focused service.
  • Manage high-value procurement: tenders, negotiations, contracts, and frameworks.
  • Streamline processes using tools and supplier frameworks to reduce turnaround times.
  • Improve procurement policies, tools, and documentation.
  • Drive savings and promote innovative, compliant procurement practices.
  • Advise stakeholders on procurement best practices.

Travel, Events & Workplace Management

  • Oversee logistics, travel, events, and facilities across offices.
  • Ensure cost-effective, sustainable delivery through clear policies and tools.
  • Build systems to support smooth operations and staff experience.
  • Manage soft services contracts for value and quality.
  • Maintain accurate procurement and logistics data.
  • Monitor supplier risk and ensure policy compliance.
  • Track market trends and manage risks proactively.
  • Lead the digital transformation of procurement and logistics.

Leadership & Management

  • Manage and mentor team; conduct check-ins and support development.
  • Advise senior leadership on procurement and operations.
  • Foster collaboration and service excellence.
  • Own and manage budgets; deliver forecasts and reports.
  • Represent the department internally and externally.
  • Oversee vendor performance and handle escalations.

Skills and experience

The desired candidate will have, but not be limited to:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 10+ years in procurement, including 3+ years in leadership roles.
  • Proven experience setting up and managing procurement/logistics functions, including consultant procurement.
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office 365 (especially Excel and Word); ERP/procurement systems experience a plus.
  • Skilled in digital procurement tools; able to recommend fit-for-purpose systems.
  • Experience in events/facilities management, including office moves/refurbishments.
  • International exposure, especially in Africa, Asia, or Latin America; understanding of regional nuances.
  • Experience in multicultural, multilingual teams.
  • Sustainability mindset; able to integrate emissions tracking in planning.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; stakeholder management experience.
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus.
