About the job

The mission:

The ICF Head of Portfolio Management is the strategy implementation leader for the M&S Campus (Insulins) Frankfurt. This spans across the various Insulin units, from API to devices through Fill & Finish activities.

The Insulin portfolio includes priority products (Toujeo/Lantus, Soliqua, Apidra) reaching around 3 Billion Euros sales, with a steady trajectory but a changing product/market and price/volume mix. The incumbent is a member of the M&S Campus Leadership Team, with full visibility over the various units and functional activities and challenges. The position plays a key role in gatekeeping, prioritizing resources and projects, and leading the design of the site master plan considering priorities and long-term mission.

Main responsibilities:

  • Serve as the single point of contact for IFL / M&S GenMed strategy teams and own key strategic processes at the site (e.g., StratPlan, Site Master Plan, Sourcing, LTIP / capacity management, Project Portfolio management and prioritization, Risk Management), in close collaboration with global functions.
  • Lead the strategic plan for the M&S Campus (Insulins), including governance, tools, and outcomes.
  • Manage key strategic projects such as site master plan and roadmap, footprint studies, scenario planning, and decision-making processes involving stakeholders.
  • Oversee key lifecycle management (LCM) and transfer projects, coordinating with MSAT resources and prioritizing with IFL and ICF heads.
  • Own the MSEP roadmap, aligning with IFL and M&S Campus Head.
  • Lead risk management activities, acting as the M&S Campus risk officer, managing relevant inputs and stakeholders, and owning Qualypso data on risk.
  • Own the Site project portfolio, consolidating inputs across functions (MSAT, Engineering, HSE, Quality, OpEx, Digital), and monitor/report on progress, actions, costs, and risks.
  • Ensure data quality in Shine, conduct end-user training, and promote project management best practices.
  • Support integration of the Site Project portfolio with GBU/ M&S portfolio processes, including governance and gate reviews.
  • Manage project prioritization processes, challenging peers at M&S Campus LT as needed.
  • Co-lead the Capex process with engineering, owning business opportunity gates and scenario freeze gates.
  • Own the LTIP process, providing capacity and occupancy views biannually by technology/line.
  • Run capacity and line allocation scenarios for various business cases.
  • Coordinate sourcing cases involving ICF assets, reviewing with global sourcing and IFL.
  • Oversee all tech transfers and demand transitions, liaising with involved IFLs.
  • Participate in commercial franchise discussions, including launches, lifecycle management, and deals, on an ad hoc basis.
  • Support overall insulin capacity management leveraging all plants via global sourcing.
  • Contribute to talent development and skills adaptation, fostering strategic thinking, business acumen, and leadership.
  • Promote sharing and application of best practices and digital solutions, ensuring transparency and access.
