About the opportunity

We are seeking a Head of People Business Partners to lead our team supporting Risk, Operations, CEO Office, People, Finance, Legal, Marketing, and Communications teams.
You will work closely with the Head of People Business Partners for Product and Technology and lead a team of 5. Our Business Partners support our leaders in implementing the N26 People Strategy and building high-performing teams.

In this role, you will:
  1. Partner with senior leadership to understand strategic business goals and align people strategies that drive high performance.
  2. Lead the development of a diverse, high-performing team through retention and talent development.
  3. Support managers in employee relations, conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary issues.
  4. Coach managers on performance management, diversity, equity and inclusion, and talent reviews.
  5. Design and execute business change initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions with minimal disruption, using data to adjust strategies.
  6. Leverage people analytics to inform decisions and support business outcomes.
  7. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements across markets, identifying opportunities to mitigate risks.
  8. Lead cyclical people initiatives such as talent management, succession planning, performance cycles, promotion processes, and onboarding.
  9. Manage and coach the team of People Business Partners, stepping in to partner with senior leaders when needed.
What you need to be successful:

Background:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience partnering with C-level executives.
  • Leadership experience in managing People Business Partners through multiple business cycles and process changes.
  • Experience working in complex, regulated environments across multiple European locations.
  • Experience working with Workers Councils, Unions, or similar entities.
  • Fluency in English; fluency in German or Spanish is desirable.

  • Strong leadership and coaching skills, with influence at senior levels.
  • Good business acumen, understanding results and financials.
  • Ability to balance employee needs with business objectives.
  • Familiarity with HR systems supporting decision-making.
  • Strategic thinker with problem-solving skills.
