Privatal is seeking an accomplished Head of M&A/Corporate Development to drive a buy-and-build strategy. The role calls for leading end-to-end transactions, shaping the M&A roadmap, and orchestrating cross-functional deal execution across Europe and beyond.

The ideal candidate brings several years of M&A experience, a private equity or corporate finance background, and a strong record of negotiating and closing complex deals under fast-paced conditions.

• Partner with senior leadership to shape and execute the M&A strategy across growth and platform objectives.
• Identify, screen and prioritise acquisition targets across Europe (and beyond).
• Originate opportunities through direct outreach and networks; build a robust deal funnel.
• Lead all stages of the transaction process from engagement to signing and completion.
• Own commercial negotiations, valuation, deal structuring and execution strategy.
• Coordinate and manage work streams across due diligences (financial, legal, tax, commercial, operational).
• Prepare and present investment papers and recommendations to CEO/CFO and private equity fund.
• Support post-close handover into integration and value-creation initiatives.

The Opportunity

Privatal is currently working exclusively and is retained by a private equity fund in their search of a new Head of M&A/Corporate Development professional for their buy-and-build strategy. The company has over 500M in revenues, a multi-sided organisation, and is now entering a new phase of growth to get beyond the 1bn revenue mark.

• Partner with senior leadership to shape and execute the M&A strategy in line with growth and platform objectives
• Proactively identify, screen and prioritise acquisition targets across relevant service lines and geographies, mainly in Europe for the time being but also outside of Europe can be considered.
• Originate opportunities through direct outreach, advisor networks and structured pipeline development
• Build and maintain a robust, high-quality deal funnel.
• Lead all stages of the transaction process from initial engagement through signing and completion
• Own commercial negotiations, valuation, deal structuring and execution strategy
• Coordinate and manage all work streams across financial, legal, tax, commercial and operational due diligence
• Prepare and present investment papers, valuation materials and recommendations to CEO/CFO and private equity fund.
• Support post-close handover into integration and contribute to value-creation initiatives alongside management team

Profile

• Several years of M&A experience with demonstrated ownership of end-to-end transactions
• Background in Private Equity, Corporate Development, Investment Banking, Corporate Finance or Transaction Services - ideally a mix of the above.
• Strong track record of independently running multiple deals in parallel but also working and building a team for further expansion.
• Experience in professional services, consultancy, IT services, software, business services, facility management, or other multi-side organisations is essential.
• Strong commercial judgement with proven negotiation capability
• Highly structured, detail-oriented and comfortable in fast-paced, high-responsibility environments
• Excellent financial, valuation and strategic analysis skills
