This position reports directly to the Area Managing Director Central Europe and is a member of the Central Europe Leadership Team (CELT).

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee marketing strategy and brand activation across 14 countries in Central Europe, including Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Ukraine, Baltics, and Iceland.
  2. Define portfolio strategy and allocate resources for personnel and Brand Marketing Expenses, managing nearly $1B USD in annual revenue, and adjust plans as needed to meet KPIs.
  3. Manage a direct team of approximately 60 marketing employees across six squads and a professional marketing team based in Neuss, Germany, ensuring consistent execution across markets.
  4. Foster cross-functional collaboration to support integrated plans through customer organizations and wider company structures.
  5. Maintain a strong external focus and strive for excellence in execution.
  6. Balance short-term results with long-term strategic goals to maximize organizational performance.

  2. Build a high-performing team that is inspired, challenged, and motivated.
  3. Coach and develop direct reports to support their personal and professional growth.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  1. University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  2. At least 15 years of extensive experience in operational and strategic marketing within the FMCG sector, ideally with both mass CPG and pharmacy OTC categories.
  3. Holistic understanding of business management, including P&L impacts.
  4. Strong leadership skills with a proven track record in developing high-performing cultures and talent pipelines.
  5. Excellent analytical, diagnostic, decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  6. Financial and operational acumen.
  7. Effective communication skills, with the ability to influence and resolve conflicts.
  8. Experience in product development and multi-channel communication including TV, print, and digital media.
  9. Ability to handle organizational complexity, especially in matrix organizations.
  10. Experience in local and global marketing, preferably internationally.
  11. Experience managing sales teams and familiarity with pharmacy, grocery, or e-commerce channels is a plus.
  12. Fluent in English; additional local languages are advantageous.
