Overview

Head of Laboratory (Plastics Manufacturing Industry). We are a well-established global company with a presence around the world, a top player in the plastics industry. We are looking for our new Laboratory and Quality Control Manager for our Germany site located near Frankfurt am Main.

Responsibilities
  • Managing a professional team of ~20 lab chemicals, quality control personnel and laboratory operators, responsible for their targets and tasks.
  • Managing their training and pushing them to improve processes and performance.
  • Building and maintaining a flexible and motivated team.
  • Generating formulations recipes based on customer specifications and application-specific properties, responsible for providing ongoing response and support to production, sales team and customers.
  • Developing and improving formulations.
  • Improving and streamlining the laboratory work, including work methods and procedures characterization.
  • Meeting product delivery times to customers while maintaining high quality.
  • Compliance with regulations and the plastic industry standards.
  • Managing interfaces with production, development, planning, purchasing and customer service departments.
  • Cooperation with other laboratories at a global level as well as the headquarters.
Requirements
  • Ability and proven experience in leading a team in a spirit of partnership and assertiveness.
  • Practical experience in plastics processing, preferably in extrusion and injection molding.
  • Experience in the functioning and application of additives.
  • Experience in handling colorants, color measurement and color recipes (an advantage).
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret specifications and technical documentation.
  • Personal skills such as self-motivation, team player, committed, loyal, analytical, open to changes, resilience and reliability.
