How you support our team

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Head of Intellectual Property (IP) Law to build and lead our IP legal team. In this key leadership role, you will in particular:

• Build, develop and lead the group’s global IP legal team; we envisage that you will hire a paralegal and a patent attorney within your first year.
• Develop and implement the group’s global IP strategy with a strong focus on defending and enforcing our IP rights.
• Provide strategic advice to senior management on IP risks, opportunities and key issues.
• Manage relationships with external law firms and oversee all IP related litigation and dispute resolution.
• Manage and oversee the group’s IP portfolio currently consisting of approximately 150 patents, 500 trademarks and 2,000 design rights across electronic consumer goods, cosmetics, medical devices and related products.
• Design, improve and implement processes and tools around IP topics in collaboration with our IT/data teams.
• Draft, review and negotiate agreements related to IP.
• Support M&A transactions with respect to IP matters.

What sets you apart

• Fully qualified lawyer with two above-average German state exams.
• At least 6 years of experience in IP law, ideally through a combination of law firm and in-house roles.
• Broad expertise across various aspects of IP law, including patents, trademarks and design rights; knowledge of competition law is a plus.
• Proven ability to manage global IP portfolios and related topics.
• Fluency in both German and English is essential.

• This position can be customized to be 75-100% FTE with room for advancement to Deputy General Counsel.
• Hybrid office/remote work arrangement with offices in Berlin, Bielefeld and Bremen and flexible working hours in coordination with your team and your team lead.
