As the experts in digestive and metabolic medicine and as a family-owned business with a global presence, we focus on developing and marketing innovative medicines to treat a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders like inflammatory bowel disease or eosinophilic esophagitis, as well as hepatobiliary disorders such as primary biliary cholangitis. Your tasks

We seek a healthcare enthusiast and transformational leader who can encourage, inspire, and motivate team members to create meaningful change.

  • Guide and empower the GMED-S team to interpret scientific content and clinical data, translating it into compelling medical stories for appropriate audiences.
  • Create scientific presentations, lectures, training courses, speaker decks, FAQ documents, etc., tailored for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs and R&D on the creation and review of regulatory (EMA and FDA) and clinical content and documentation related to new drugs, clinical trials, and medical treatments, focusing on epidemiology, therapeutic areas, guidelines, and patient needs.
  • Respond to and process medical inquiries from healthcare providers, patients, and partners, working closely with the global safety department.
  • Conduct extensive research on medical topics to ensure accurate, compliant communication internally and externally.
  • Participate in scientific events and international symposia.
  • Support the External Innovation, Development & Partnering department through medical evaluation and due diligence of pipeline candidates and liaising with opinion leaders.

You will collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Global Safety, Marketing, Market Access, and Sales, and have opportunities to influence processes and contribute your experience.

You will also delve into medical literature for external innovation due diligence and serve as a role model and leader for your team, leveraging your knowledge and contacts with external experts.

You will report to and deputize for the Head of Global Medical, representing Global Medical in the Science & Innovation and Cross-Functional Leadership Teams.

Your qualifications
  • Degree in natural sciences, preferably medicine, pharmacy, or biology/biochemistry; doctorate preferred.
  • Minimum five years of pharma industry and team leadership experience at an international level.
  • Experience in gastroenterology and hepatology is mandatory; patient engagement and compassionate use programs are advantageous.
  • Independent, structured work style with strong communication skills, empathy, and transparency. Natural clarity, accuracy, and transformational leadership style.
  • Fluent in English and German; additional languages like French, Italian, or Spanish are a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Teams, SharePoint, literature databases; knowledge of Prism GraphPad or Adobe Illustrator is a plus.
