mute-labs GmbH, a Berlin-based producer of sound-insulated phone and meeting booths, seeks a hands-on Head of Finance (m/f/d) to shape and lead the finance function. You will own Accounting, FP&A and Controlling, drive automation, and partner with Operations and Commercial teams to steer budgeting, forecasting, and profitability.

Fluency in German and English is required. You will report to the management team and manage a small internal team plus external accounting partners in a fast-growing

You are a hands‑on Finance expert looking for an opportunity to shape a sustainable, profitable business across all departments through efficient Accounting processes and strong business partnering for the Operations and Commercial functions? We have just the right role for you! We are looking for a strong expert in Accounting with exposure to FP&A and Controlling who is excited to take over and shape the Finance function and drive the business forward as part of our Management team.

To fully unfold our desire to grow and scale our business, we need to grow a strong and strategic Finance department - and for that we need your help!

The position

As our new Head of Finance (m/f/d), you make sure that

• the Accounting, FP&A and Controlling functions operate smoothly and evolve through a reliable process setup, leveraging automation and tool integration where relevant (our stack: Datev, Odoo, Lucanet, Spendesk)

• all operational matters - from preparatory accounting to financial reporting, as well as managing the external tax advisors are managed reliably

• our compliance obligations are continuously fulfilled (Intrastat reporting, international tax registrations, audit preparations, etc.)

• the key business functions (Commercial and Operations) receive meaningful and timely business partnering to support budget and forecasting decisions

• all finance-related ERP processes integrate efficiently with relevant supply chain, logistics, and sales workflows thanks to your proactive cross-functional alignment and optimization efforts

• our cash flow and working capital is managed reliably and optimized continuously

This is you

• Relevant Experience: You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounting in a non-venture backed business with a proven track record of driving impact (experience in a hardware business is a strong plus).

• Hard Skills: Confident HGB accounting, independent preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, reliable review of external bookkeeping and tax advisors.

• Strong Commercial Mindset: You’re able to translate complex numbers into actionable insights for business teams.

• Automation-First Thinker: A strong process orientation and deep experience in automating financial or operational workflows.

• Meticulous Follow-up & Prioritization Skills: You stick to your commitments and don’t drop the ball on priorities and key projects even in hectic times, and you coach your team to do the same.

• Team Management: You are a player-coach who can confidently manage a team of 1-2 individual contributors and an external accounting office.

• Languages: Fluency in German and English is a must.
