Our global client has a suite of innovative consumer-facing systems and operational management tools that are reshaping their ever-expanding sector. To drive further growth, they have an exciting opening for a Munich (Hybrid) based Head of Software Engineering.

Head of Engineering Responsibilities:

1. Provide both technical and disciplinary leadership to multiple software development teams.
2. Collaborate with senior stakeholders to prioritize technical improvements and initiatives that align with business goals.
3. Ensure the architectural integrity and scalability of team applications.
4. Drive and advocate for best development practices, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
5. Lead the hiring process for the engineering organization, building high-performing, diverse teams.
6. Work closely with product management and other departments to design impactful features and solutions.
7. Challenge the status quo with data-driven insights, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
8. Act as a servant leader, mentoring team leads and direct reports to support their professional and personal growth.

Head of Engineering Skills, Experience, and Traits:

1. Proven track record as a successful leader of software development teams, including mentoring team leads or engineering managers.
2. Extensive experience in software engineering and system architecture, with a strong foundation in PHP (Symfony), API-driven frontends, and mobile applications (Nuxt, Flutter).
3. Expertise in cloud computing, particularly within the AWS ecosystem.
4. Demonstrated ability to align technical strategies with business objectives, including resource planning, budgeting, and risk management.
5. Strong analytical skills with the ability to drive data-informed engineering decisions.
6. In-depth knowledge of building scalable software solutions for growing user bases and expanding geographical markets.
7. Proficiency in creating and releasing high-quality software with efficient feedback loops.
8. Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
